Conflict broke out on the 15th of December 2013 in South Sudan. According to UN about 4.9 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. Only 23 % of the population has an access to clean water and 12.7 % sanitation facilities. Beginning rainy season is deteriorating the situation. Children, elderly persons, girls, women, refugees, IDPs and minorities are the most vulnerable. MFA appropriates to IFRC 500 000 € to South Sudan. Support is allocated through Finnish Red Cross.
