Facility for Refugees in Turkey
Description
As part of the EU-Turkey cooperation on migration management EU and its Member States have established a Facility for Refugees in Turkey. The aim of the support is to respond to the immediate humanitarian and development needs of Syrian refugees in Turkey by delivering food, education and health services. As a result the capacity of Turkey to receive and host refugees is enhanced, and the living conditions of Syrian refugees in Turkey are improved incl. access to education and health services. The total funding of the facility is 3 billion euros, of which 1 billion euros comes from EU budget, and 2 billion euros from the budgets of the Member States. As an EU Member State Finland is obliged to participate in the funding with a share of 28,4 million euros in the years 2016-2019.
