Humanitarian aid to refugees and returnees in Chad through UNICEF: Political instability in neighbouring countries has resulted in 450 000 refugees, 90 000 internally displaced persons and 270 000 returnes in Chad. Out of registered returnes from CAR 90% are women and children, all of whom need access to protection, education, nutrition, health and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services. UNICEF provides support to 9 transit centers in Ndjamena, Sido, Sarh, Gore, Doba and 2 host villages in Bitoye and Bessao.
