EU/ Economic empowerment of young women
Description
The overall objective of the project is to enhance young women's economic empowerment and fulfilment of their rights in Indonesia. The actions focus on narrowing the gender gaps not only in economic terms but also in social status. Central to this is access to decent work for young women, through formal employment or through entrepreneurial activity. The project brings together private sector, central government, local authorities, microfinance institutions and the youth themselves, in order to build a holistic model of youth economic empowerment. It combines training with access to credit and employment in an innovative, market-led approach, while also targeting the relevant government policies, strategies and legislation to make them more gender responsive.
