World Bank; Ukraine District heating Sector - implementation support for investment
Description
World Bank (WB) granted in 2014 a loan to Ukraine District Heating (DH) Sector project. The project objective is to improve the energy efficiency and quality of service of selected Ukrainian DH companies, improve their financial viability and decrease their CO2 emissions. The investments financed by WB loan to the government of Ukraine contribute to energy efficiency at the supply and demand-side levels and include in particular heat and power production modernization, DH networks modernization and individual heat substations deployment. Finland is contributing with 150 000 USD to support implementation of District Heating project, especially to give technical assistance to Ukrainian Project Implementation Units in formulation of technical specifications, tendering, and contract finalizing. In addition Finland's financing will assist in overall project management and performance monitoring as well as in identifying hazards for the design and construction stages.
