Protection of Syrian Refugee Women and other Vulnerable Women in Northern Iraq
Description
The project will establish a women's community center (Women's Community Center, WCC) in Dohuk, Iraq. Of the Syrian refugess in Iraq, 97% reside in the Kurdistan Region and 63% of these are women and children. The area has three refugee camps, but most of the refugees live outside the camps. WCC will work for disadvantaged women in the security center, which offers both psycho-social support and income support with the aim to prevent social and economic exclusion. The community's own resources will be used to ensure the sustainability of the project. The center will be open also to other vulnerable women in the area. Funding for the project is 777 609 Euros for a duration of 12 months.
