Forest and Farm Facility
Description
Forest and Farm Facility (FFF) is a partnership, launched in 2012, between FAO, IIED and IUCN to promote sustainable forest and farm management by enhancing the organization and capacity of local people and by supporting local, national, regional and international organizations and platforms. The key goal of the FFF is to strengthen smallholder, women, community and Indigenous Peoples’ groups for improved livelihoods and policy engagement for managing forests and farms in an integrated and sustainable way. The Facility also aims to enhance multi-sectoral stakeholder policy platforms with governments at local and national levels, forest and farm producer organizations and stakeholders as well as the private sector, and promote investments in sustainable forest and farm management. In addition, the FFF enhances linkages between the local and global agendas and initiatives. The FFF is currently active in 10 countries: Bolivia, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Gambia, Liberia, Kenya and Zambia, Myanmar, Nepal and Vietnam. Synergies are sought in countries where Finland has bilateral development cooperation. The FFF activities have contributed to strengthened cooperation between forest and farm producer organizations, stakeholders and decision-makers, including forest sector programmes. The Facility has also supported national policy processes in a number of countries and provided training at both national and regional levels. The FFF's overall progress and outputs are assessed by the Facility's monitoring and learning system. In 2015, Finland's support is 1,4 million euros.
