Development cooperation between Finland and Ethiopia is guided by the Country Strategy for Development Cooperation with Ethiopia 2013 -2016, which is based on the objectives of Ethiopia's Growth and Transformation Plan 2010-2015. Cooperation is concentrated on three sectors: water, education and rural economic development. The purpose is to use the funds for planning, project preparation and monitoring of development cooperation in Ethiopia and South Sudan, fee of the Development Assistance Group, development cooperation training and monitoring of regional cooperation. The purpose of the funds allocated to the Embassy of Finland in Addis Ababa is to provide adequate resources to efficient and results-based programme cooperation and programme design as well as monitoring and evaluation of the programmes.
