In a discussion organised by the Foreign Ministry, participants will consider solutions to climate change. How can people in Africa and Asia see the climate crisis in their lives? What can we do to ensure that the Global South will be able to tackle the consequences of climate change? Common problems require common solutions.

Izidine Pinto, a Mozambican climate researcher, and Patricia Kombo, a Kenyan climate activist, who represent the voice of the Global South, will participate in the discussion remotely. Climate activist Sara Nyman, and Ambassador for Climate Change Jan Wahlberg from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will bring Finland’s perspective to the discussion.

The discussion will be hosted by Liselott Lindström. She has worked as a reporter in Africa.

The discussion session entitled “Solving the climate crisis together” will be held at Tiivistämö on 29 May at 13.00–13.30. The discussion will be in English. People can attend the event at Tiivistämö or follow discussions via live streaming on the festival’s website(Link to another website.).
