New Head of Mission to Addis Ababa

The President of the Republic appointed Counsellor for Foreign Affairs Sinikka Antila to serve as Head of Mission at Finland’s Embassy in Addis Ababa from 1 September 2023. Antila will transfer to Ethiopia from Namibia, where she has served as the Ambassador of the European Union since 2019.

Antila’s previous positions in the Diplomatic Service include Head of Mission at Finland’s Embassy in Dar es Salaam from 2011 to 2015 and Head of Mission at the Embassy in Lusaka from 2007 to 2011. At the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Antila has served as Senior Adviser for Trade and Development and as Director of the Unit for Development Policy from 2003 to 2007.

Antila joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1985. She holds a Master of Laws degree.
