Dan Ekholm appointed as Press Counsellor to Berlin

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs has appointed Dan Ekholm as Press Counsellor at the Embassy of Finland in Berlin for three years starting on 1 September.

Ekholm will transfer to the Foreign Ministry from the post of Editor at the newspaper Vasabladet. He has accumulated wide-ranging experience in media during his career. Ekholm has been European correspondent in Berlin for the Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE), EU correspondent in Brussels for YLE’s Swedish unit Svenska Yle, news editor, journalist and Scandinavia correspondent in Stockholm for Svenska Yle. Ekholm has also served as Press Counsellor at Finland’s Embassy in Stockholm and as Chief Information Officer at the Swedish People’s Party of Finland. He has studied journalism at the Swedish School of Social Science of the University of Helsinki.
