Support to UN's Ethiopia Humanitarian Fund
Description
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs contributes 2,000,000 euros to UN's Ethiopia Humanitarian Fund. Ethiopia faces one of world's most severe humanitarian crises, with 28.6 million people in need of humanitarian assistance. In 2023, UN requires 4.0 billion dollars for its humanitarian operations in Ethiopia. Ethiopia Humanitarian Fund is a rapid, flexible and strategic humanitarian fund that supports also national and local humanitarian organizations. In 2022, the fund allocated 75.2 million dollars to humanitarian partners working in Ethiopia, out of which 46.4% to national and local NGOs. The fund pays special attention to four underfunded priorities: gender equality, disability inclusion, protection and education in emergencies.
