Support to UN's Ukraine Humanitarian Fund

Description

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland contributes 5,000,000 euros to UN's Ukraine Humanitarian Fund. In Ukraine, 17.6 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. In 2023, UN requires 3.9 billion dollars for its humanitarian operations in Ukraine. Ukraine Humanitarian Fund is a rapid, flexible and strategic humanitarian fund that supports especially national and local humanitarian organizations. In 2022, the fund allocated 188 million dollars to humanitarian partners working in Ukraine; 33% of this was directed to national and local NGOs. The operations are mostly focused in Eastern Ukraine. The fund pays special attention to gender equality, disability inclusion, protection and education in emergencies.
