Finland's core contribution to the UN refugee agency UNHCR in 2023-2026, a total of 28 million euros (7 million euros annually). UNHCR (Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) is globally responsible for the assistance and protection of refugees as well as finding durable solutions to refugee crises. The importance of the Agency has grown in recent years, as the global number of refugees is higher than ever before. Of all humanitarian agencies, UNHCR is one of the main channels for Finnish humanitarian funding.
