DAG/Core support for peace mediation activities

Description

The Dialogue Advisory Group (DAG) focuses on acting as a peace broker between armed non-state actors and official actors. The organisation seeks to operate in contexts where official actors cannot operate. DAG is seen as a neutral player that seeks to act as a bridge between different stakeholders. The Mediation Centre has supported DAG's activities for €200,000 in 2021 and 2022. Other main supporters are The Netherland, Norway, Ireland and Liechtenstein. The organisation also works closely with the ICC. DAG operates in Iraq, Sudan, Mozambique, Yemen, Libya and Venezuela. DAG works closely with the UN system in particular and supports the work of various UN Special Representatives. Among DAG's advisers there are several former UN diplomats. Finland's core support to DAG will be EUR 200,000 in 2023.
