Humanitarian Assistance; UNHCR; support to UNHCR's activities in Ukraine
Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland supports UNHCR’s Ukraine operation inside Ukraine with 4.2 million euros. As a result of the conflict in Eastern Ukraine, 3.4 million people have so far been dependent on humanitarian aid and more than 1.4 million Ukrainians have been forced to leave their homes. The escalation of the Ukraine war is leading to significant new movements of refugees and an increase in the need for humanitarian assistance. UNHCR estimates that up to four million refugees may flee Ukraine. Some eight million people are at the risk of being internally displaced. UNHCR works closely with Ukraine’s Government and partners and maintains emergency relief and protective equipment stocks in different parts of Ukraine.
