Academy of Finland, Research for Development
Description
The aim of Finland's development research is to promote development and to find new information and means to solve global development challenges. The objective of the Research for Development programme is to support the research cooperation between the Finnish and developing countries universities and research institutions and to enhance research capacity in development countries. Research projects will contribute to the objectives of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and produce new multidisciplinary information for general reduction of poverty and the implementation of the SDGs. The programme also supports researchers' international cooperation and the open access and publishing of research information. The programme is financed in collaboration with the Academy of Finland (www.aka.fi), which serves also as the implementing organization of the programme.
