Support of Joint Financing arrangement of IGAD, ISAP IV
Description
Finland has supported Inter-Governmental Authority on Development since its establishment in late 1980s. Finland has supported the institutional strengthening of IGAD since 2011. Between 2011-2014 Finland supported strengthening the institutional and project management capacity through a bilateral project. The project achieved its objectives: the Project Planning and Management Unit was established and the project management capacity as well as the strategic planning capacity of IGAD strengthened. In 2015 Finland began to channel its support to the Institutional Strengthening Action Plan through a Joint Financing Arrangement (ISAP) together with other Nordic countries. The Joint Financing Arrangement aims at supporting the institutional strengthening of IGAD to deliver its mandate of regional stability, integration and prosperity. This programme is the fourth Institutional Strengthening Action Programme (ISAP IV). The other donors in the joint financing mechanism are Norway and Switzerland.
