Humanitarian aid; support to WFP logistics in COVID-19 crisis

World Food Programme WFP is an operative programme of the UN which has a central role in all humanitarian crises globally. Following its role as the lead of the global humanitarian logistics and emergency telecommunications clusters, WFP is at the core of the global COVID-19 response. The importance of the WFP in securing the logistics and supply chain has significantly increased after commercial transport capacity has been downgraded. As a critical component of the COVID-19 Global Humanitarian Response Plan (GHRP), WFP urgently needs 965 MUSD. Finland contributes 3 MEUR towards the WFP service provision as part of the GHRP.
