Delivering on a child's right to education – strengthening access and quality of learning in Syria
Description
Finland has financed the No Lost Generation initiative through UNICEF in Syria and neighbouring countries since 2014 with a total contribution of 12,5 million Euro. The NLG initiative aims at mobilizing financing and influencing the policies to help facilitate the Syrian children to get back to school, improve the child protection and improve the conditions for the youth and adolescents. The new project will focus exclusively on activities within Syria. The project has three main objectives: 1) strenghten access to education through rehabilitation of 15 schools; 2) provide non-formal education support for children out-of.school or at risk of dropping out; 3) enhance opportunities for accesss to education and other basic services for 500 children with severe disabilities. Finland's contribution is for the year 2020.
