Innovation Partnership Programme

Description What is done in the programme or project and why, what results are pursued, who benefits from the activities and who are involved in the implementation.

The overall objective has been defined as Vietnam becoming an industrialized middle-income country by 2020, with a knowledge economy and a National Innovation Systems (NIS) that actively supports socio-economic development. Adopting a wide view on innovation, the partners have created a systemic approach to managing the task in hand to address the project purpose of strengthening the National Innovation System of Vietnam in capacity, capability and through public-private partnerships (PPPs) that enable improved NIS contribution to the socio-economic development of Vietnam. To achieve the project purpose, four key results have been identified: i) The institutional environment is built up; ii) The S&T Management capacity and capability is strengthened; iii) Public and Private Partnerships are enabled nationally and internationally; and finally iv) Vietnamese-Finnish Public and Private Partnerships are facilitated as a pilot initiative, to be expanded to further partnerships.
