Strengthening School Health Programme in Namibia
Description
The ICI Project between Ministry of Health and Social Services in Namibia and the National Institute for Health and Welfare in Finland stregthens the capacity of the Namibian Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health and Social Services on all levels to provide better quality school health services. The School Health Programme (SHP) is one of the Primary Health Care strategies in Namibia, and the Health Promoting Schools Initiative (HPSI) was adopted to promote and strengthen SHP. The ICI Project aims at improving the knowledge and skills of the School Health Programme personnel in implementing the Health Promoting Schools initiative and improving the project management capacity of persons working with school health issues. The Project also aims at improving the capacity to collect and use information on school health and improving networking and communications skills.
