UNEP is the leading environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda. UNEP has been strengthened after the Rio+20 conference including its coordinating role in the UN system on environmental issues, increased budget, universal memebership and the establishment of teh UN Environment Assembly. Finland's priorities with UNEP lie in stregthening UNEP's role as coordinator of environmental agenda, implementation and follow-up of environmental aspects of the post-2015 development agenda and improved efficiency through results-based management. A payment of 6 MEUR to the Environment Fund is posposed. million euros to UNEP's Environmental Fund, which is used to fund UNEP's activities.
