Mineral Resources Potential and Small Scale Mining

Mineral Resources Potential Mapping and Support to small scale mining project is aiming at producing better geological information (Geochemical Dataset and Map) about the potential mineral resources in Tanzania. Also the project aims at supporting small scale miners entrepreneurial skills and assets, support the Geological Survey of Tanzania, University of Sokoine (US) and the national TEITI Process. The implementer of the project is GTK Geological Survey of Finland and the GST to some extent. Beneficiaries of the project are citizens, entrepreneurs, GST and US. The long term goal of the project is to provide better information to the websites of GST about the geological potential of Tanzania. The short term goal is the improved conditions and safer and cleaner environment of the small scale miners which should in the long run prove to be sustainable financially and environmentally.
