Priority areas of ADF operations are energy and energy access, food security and agriculture, industrialization, regional integration and improving Africans' quality of life, incl. education and youth employment. The granted funding is Finland's contribution to the African Development Fund for the replenishment period 2017-2019. During the cycle the AfDB intends to e.g. create 830,000 new jobs for Africa's youth directly and 2.7 million jobs indirectly, equip 2.2 million people with job-specific skills and contribute towards investment in 5 GW of new and additional electricity generation capacity.
