Description

Fida International together with the partner Pentecostal Churches of Uganda is helping 4080 refugees from South Sudan in Adjumani region in Uganda. Support is especially directed to the most vulnerable people, single parents, chronically sick and disabled. Operation offers shelter, better hygiene and fruit tree and tree seedlings. There is a lack of household items and shelter in the settelements. UNHCR and the Office of the Prime Minister are in coordination lead. Altogether in the region of Adjumani there are about 100 000 refugees and the estimation by the end of the year 2014 is 150 000 (UNHCR). Operation will be implemented in six months and the total expenditure is 100 000 euro. Fida International has worked in Uganda since the mid 1980s. Operation is a flash appeal which is responding to the difficult humanitarian situation in South Sudan. Appeal is an extension on the operation that was financed with 50 000 euro by the ministry in the February 2014.
