Description

Development Problems in Malaita: 1. Unemployment of young people, lack of education 2. Vacation from Malaita, marginalization, crime, drug problem and drinking 3. Lack of preventive health services and lack of jobs Project aims to reduce extreme powerty in Malaita. Project will develop collaborative activites for entrepreneurship training and starting of new businesses and teaching fixed gardening for Malaitans who in general are all in weak position. Entrepreneurship trainings support human development. It improves gender equality and reduces inequality. Aproximately half of the TIM students are young women who aim to start as business women to gain social influence. Business represents for them sense of coherence and opens them equal opportunities for social, economical and political involvement and access to essential sevices and security. Trainings promote green economy. New gardening methods reduce erosion and environmental load and thus resist climate change. They also improve self-sufficiency of the farmers and thus reduce need for food transport. Activities and trainings value of good governance, reduction of corruption, openess of financial administration, infromation sharing and improved participation of civil society. CMADA and TIM support for new graduate´s business start ups by removing obstaces of entrepreneurship is a new concept. The target is to make and start sustainable mode of operation which helps getting new economical activities into Malaita. Main beneficiaries are the students of the trainings and their families. Activities: a. Ensure that CMADA is equipped to sustainably carry out its administration of TIM and the VED Farmer training programme. b. Support CMADA to start business activities for marketing CMADA member and TIM graduate products even to export c. Assist CMADA and TIM to set up business support center to start off new graduates from th school in business.
