ACO - Expert House for Female Members of Parliment (FMP)

Description

The proposal is completing our goal to improve women's political participation and continue our cooperation with the Finland Embassy which entitled "Political Participation for Women". The project focuses on developing the capacities of women, in particular young women, to engage in politics as informed voters and capable candidates, as potential leaders at the community levels and as active change agents in several governorates across Egypt and training women to run for the 2014 parliamentary elections. Thus, this proposal is answering the question of "What's after 70 women parliamentarians in the parliament". The proposal focuses on improve the performance of female parliamentarians and enhance their self confidence through providing technical information along with the needed skills. This will also build up the trust of the society of female parliamentarians and improve their image. This proposal seeks building effectively women’s capacities and acquiring experiences in the decision-making, which contributes to be entered in parliament & decision-making positions with high percentage whether quota is continoued or not. Women’s involvement in the mechanism of decision-making positions will generate a group of women has the confidence of defence for women’s rights, and then the society will gain trust in women’s capacities.
