US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet in Helsinki on Monday 16 July 2018. The meeting will be hosted by President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö.

Accreditation of media representatives

The accreditation of media representatives for the #HELSINKI2018 Meeting has ended. Late accreditation requests will not be accepted.

Press conferences and photo opportunities

Attendance at possible press conferences and photo opportunities will be strictly limited.

Media representatives working at the Media Centre will be provided image signal produced in cooperation between the Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). 

Journalists can watch possible press conferences related to the Presidents' meeting at the Press Conference viewing room in the congress wing of Finlandia Hall.

The Department for Communications of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in cooperation with STT/Lehtikuva will also produce photo material from the meeting for media representatives.

Free travel cards for media

The Helsinki Regional Transport Authority (HSL) offers a free travel card for representatives of the media accredited to #HELSINKI2018. The travel cards are valid from July 13 to July 18.

Representatives of the #HELSINKI2018 media can collect their HSL travel cards at the airport, from My Helsinki info desks on Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15 at 7am–8pm. My Helsinki info desks are situated at the arrivals terminals. Please prepare to show your press card.

Travel cards and media badges can be collected from Media info at Finlandia Hall, Mannerheimintie 13 E, door M4:

  • on Saturday, July 14 at 11am–5pm
  • on Sunday, July 15 at 9am–8pm
  • on Monday, July 16 at 7am–10pm

You can plan your journey with the HSL Journey Planner which gives up-to-date transport information. 

You can use your free travel card on buses, trams, metro, commuter trains and the ferry to Suomenlinna Fortress Island. You can also transfer from one vehicle to another with the same card.
