Evaluation of ICI Projects in Tanzania

The evaluation covers the design and performance of three Institutional Cooperation Instrument (ICI) projects that were implemented in Tanzania during the years 2015-2018.

The projects were:

• Implementation support of results and data of first National Forest Resources Monitoring and Assessment (NAFORMA) at regional and local level in Tanzania (Finnish partner Luke)
• National Spatial Data Infrastructure for Integrated Coastal and Marine Spatial Planning in Zanzibar (Finnish partner SYKE)
• Mineral Resources Potential and Small-scale Mining in Nachingwea Area and a General Nation-wide Geochemical Map of Tanzania (Finnish partner GTK)

The evaluation found out that all projects had a relatively high overall performance and the findings of the evaluation validate ICI as an important and useful element of a country strategy.
