The Secretariat of the Antarctic Treaty is looking for rapporteurs
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs is announcing that the Secretariat of the Antarctic Treaty is looking for rapporteurs (including trainee rapporteurs) for the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting (ATCM) to be held in Helsinki from 25 May to 4 June 2020. Under the guidance of the Secretariat, the rapporteurs will be responsible for keeping notes of the speeches and for reporting on the discussions held during the Consultative Meeting. Applicants are expected to have a solid knowledge of the Antarctic Treaty System and to have excellent oral and written skills in English.
Great results from the water supply and sanitation project in Nepal
A bilateral development cooperation project between Finland and Nepal has ended, having achieved excellent results. In the countryside of Western Nepal, availability of clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene have improved considerably in ten years. At the same time, women’s opportunities to make a difference in village communities have also increased.
Twinning: French and Finnish cooperation to develop Algeria’s national meteorological office
A joint tender by France and Finland has been awarded a contract for a Twinning project in Algeria. The two-year project will strengthen the data production of the Algerian national meteorological office (Office National de la Météorologie) and help to diversify the range of services. Finland's representative in the project is the Finnish Meteorological Institute.

The new strategy of the Team Finland network creates a strong foundation for providing assistance to Finnish companies in Finland and in their target markets. Minister Skinnari to Qatar
Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari will visit Qatar from 5 to 6 November 2019. The Minister will meet state leadership and visit the Qatar-Finland International School in Doha. The aim of the visit is to present Finland's high expertise in the energy, technology and education sectors and to pave the way for growing commercial cooperation.
