Chairmanship of the Arctic Council nearing its conclusion
The last plenary meeting of the Finnish Chairmanship reviewed the reports and recommendations of the Arctic Council’s Working Groups, discussed cooperation between Working Groups and Observers, and prepared the Declaration of the Ministerial meeting. Representatives of all of the eight Arctic States and six Permanent Participant organisations representing indigenous peoples, as well as observers from Europe, Asia and international organisations, attended the meeting.
Finland supports the schooling of the most vulnerable children in Myanmar
Finland supports the follow-on financing of the World Bank’s Decentralizing Funding to Schools Project in Myanmar. The project improves the quality of basic education in different parts of Myanmar, especially aiming to support the schooling of the most vulnerable children.
Finland Toolbox, an open source of information about Finland
The Finland Promotion Board has revised its Finland Toolbox. The presentation toolkit offers information about Finland and themes that are important for the Finns, and it is available for anyone who wants to tell about these matters to international audiences.
Foreign Ministry's meetings will be eco-friendly
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs together with WWF Finland have compiled guidelines for eco-friendly meetings. In future, all meetings to be organised by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will be eco-friendly. The missions abroad may apply the guidelines as applicable, considering the local circumstances.
