Changes to prices of services provided by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Finnish missions abroad

Some of the prices of services provided by the Finnish missions and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will rise. The new prices will enter into force on 1 September 2023.

On 31 August 2023, the Ministerial Finance Committee adopted the Decree of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs on Fees for Services Produced by the Foreign Services in 2023. The decree will enter into force on 1 September 2023 and remain in force until 31 December 2023.

For example, the price of a passport issued by a mission will rise from EUR 175 to EUR 235, and the prices of notarial services will increase by EUR 10–20. On the other hand, the price of an identity card issued by a mission will decrease from EUR 96 to EUR 60.

These changes will bring the prices of services provided by the Foreign Service closer to their cost price. The adjustments to the fees are based on the cost-price principle under the Act on Criteria for Charges Payable to the State and the general rise in costs.

A list of the new prices of services provided by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs is appended to the Decree (in Finnish).
