New Permanent Representative to Finland’s Permanent Delegation to OECD

At the presidential session on 19 January, the President of the Republic appointed a new Permanent Representative to the Permanent Delegation of Finland to the OECD in Paris, France.

At its session on 19 January, the Government appointed Counsellor Pasi-Heikki Vaaranmaa as Counsellor for Foreign Affairs as of 20 February 2023. The President of the Republic appointed Counsellor for Foreign Affairs Pasi-Heikki Vaaranmaa to serve as Head of the Permanent Delegation of Finland to the OECD, starting on 20 February 2023.

Vaaranmaa is currently the Director of the Trade Policy Unit at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. He has previously worked as Deputy Permanent Representative at Finland’s Permanent Delegation to the OECD from 2012 to 2015, as Deputy Permanent Representative in Geneva from 2009 to 2012 and as Director of the Foreign Ministry’s Human Resources Unit from 2007 to 2009. Vaaranmaa’s posts in the Diplomatic Service include Paris, Geneva and Syria.

Vaaranmaa joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1997. He holds a Master of Arts degree.
