Discretionary government transfers for Europe information – 2020 application period now open

The application period for discretionary government transfers for Europe information is now open to civil society organisations. The goal of the grants is to increase awareness about the EU. Applications will be accepted until 5 December 2019.

 

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs is now accepting applications from civil society organisations for discretionary government transfers for Europe information. The transfers will be granted if Parliament allocates the necessary funds in the 2020 Budget. Applications will be accepted from 1 November to 5 December 2019.

A total of EUR 370,000 has been proposed for the grants in the 2020 Budget. The goal of the grants is to increase awareness about the European Union. The following priorities will be emphasised:

              •            Youth in the EU

              •            Human rights and the rule of law

              •            EU climate policy

              •            EU budget and Finland

              •            EU and Africa

 

The Act on Discretionary Government Transfers (688/2001) will be observed in the granting, disbursement, use and monitoring of the use of the transfers. The transfers are available to Finnish non-profit organisations.
