Minister for Foreign Affairs Haavisto visits Budapest

Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto will meet Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó in Budapest on 15 September.

The foreign ministers will exchange views on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Finland’s upcoming NATO membership, and bilateral relations.

“It is important to us to have good relations and an open line of communication with Hungary, which is a member both in EU and NATO. Russia’s aggression and its effects on Europe concern us all, and that is why it is good to meet with my Hungarian colleague and exchange views on topical matters,” says Minister for Foreign Affairs Haavisto.

In Budapest, Foreign Minister Haavisto will also meet the Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament and civil society actors, among others.
