Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen to propose terminating posting of Head of Mission at Finland’s Embassy in Lisbon
The purpose of terminating the posting is to ensure that the Embassy’s staff have a favourable working environment.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen has today decided to propose that the President of the Republic terminate the posting of Ambassador Titta Maja-Luoto as Head of Mission at Finland’s Embassy in Lisbon to ensure that the Embassy remains functional. The Minister made the decision after consulting the Foreign Ministry’s senior public officials and human resources unit.
The Ministry will immediately start the process to select a new Head of Mission for the Embassy.
The termination of the posting is not a sanction under the legislation governing public officials but a measure to ensure that the Embassy’s staff have a favourable working environment. The occupational safety and health report filed to the Ministry will be dealt with in a separate process under the legislation governing public officials. The process will be led by the Ministry's Director of Human Resources and its outcome will be announced later.
