Minister Skinnari to Qatar

Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari will visit Qatar from 5 to 6 November 2019. The Minister will meet state leadership and visit the Qatar-Finland International School in Doha. The aim of the visit is to present Finland's high expertise in the energy, technology and education sectors and to pave the way for growing commercial cooperation.

“Finland has strong expertise in climate and energy issues, for example. We have innovative energy and technology solutions for which there is demand in countries like Qatar,” says Minister for Development and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari. 

Minister Skinnari will meet representatives of Qatari state leadership and visit the Qatar-Finland International School in Doha. 

The Minister will also meet ambassadors from the EU Member States and representatives of the International Labour Organisation (ILO). “Qatar has been discussed in public because of problems related to migrant workers. I consider it important that this issue be discussed during my visit,” Minister Skinnari says.

The previous ministerial visit to Qatar was made by Prime Minister Juha Sipilä in May 2017.
