Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs to visit Finland

Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly will visit Finland on 4 April and have a meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto.

In their meeting, the foreign ministers will discuss Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, European security, bilateral cooperation between Finland and Canada, and other topical international matters.

“This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Finland and Canada. We greatly appreciate Canada as a northern partner country with the same set of values. Close cooperation with Canada provides an opportunity to strengthen transatlantic unity and ensure a united front in defending the rules-based international system,” Foreign Minister Haavisto says.
