Arto Mansala, Under Secretary of State, Administrative, Legal and Protocol Affairs, was on Monday, 28 April, appointed Secretary of State a.i. at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Secretary of State Antti Satuli died on 17 April. Interim arrangements were carried out similarly two years ago when Satuli could not immediately assume his duties as Secretary of State due to his post as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Finland to the European Union. The then Under Secretary of State, Administrative, Legal and Protocol Affairs, Pertti Torstila was acting as interim Secretary of State.
Satuli’s funeral service will be held on 9 May, following a memorial service for the personnel at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs early May, after which the post of Secretary of State will be declared vacant.
