Reminder of expiring MFA residence permit and protocol cards

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs present their compliments to the Diplomatic Missions, Consular Posts and International Organizations accredited to Helsinki and, with reference to the Ministry´s Verbal Note No PF0YW54C-65 of 14 November 2019, have the honour to remind the Missions of the validity of the residence permit and protocol cards issued by the Protocol Services before 1 January 2020.

Due to the change in the appearance of the residence permit and protocol cards, the cards issued to members of Missions and their family members before 1 January 2020 (with a yellow stripe at the bottom of the front of the card) will continue to be in force at most until the end of 2021.

If applicable, the Missions are kindly asked to apply for new residence permit and protocol cards by the end of November 2021. The expiring cards should be returned to the Protocol Services at the same time with the verbal note. If the validity of the current card needs to be extended, kindly also enclose the passport and a new photograph of each person.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs avail themselves of this opportunity to renew to the Diplomatic Missions, Consular Posts and International Organizations accredited to Helsinki the assurances of their highest consideration.
