Memorial service held for Antti Satuli, Secretary of State
A memorial service for Antti Satuli, Secretary of State at the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, was held on Europe Day, 9 May, at the Old Church of Helsinki. His family and a wide circle of friends, colleagues and representatives of the Finnish society, including the President of the Republic and old friends from the French school in Helsinki, attended the service.
Representatives of the European Commission and many foreign governments came to bid farewell, including Hans Dahlgren, Secretary of State at the Swedish Foreign Ministry, and Sir Stephen Wall, Head of the European Secretariat, Cabinet Office, from the United Kingdom. The altar was covered with more than 80 wreaths of flowers as Bishop Eero Huovinen conducted the service and former Secretary of State Veli Sundbäck paid homage.
